Ugh. Finals week. I predict that every post made from now on until Friday will conclude with "I need a drink to sleep."

Okay so I got a facebook. Am I the only one who feels weird putting up their picture for the whole internet world to see? Like, doesn't it freak anyone out that ANYONE IN THE WHOLE WORLD COULD BE LOOKING AT YOU? No? If any of you wants to friend me, pm me and I'll give you my info.

Sometimes I fail so much it ASTOUNDS ME. Like yesterday was my Japanese interview. It's basically the teacher asking you some things in Japanese which you have to answer in Japanese. OH GOD. Have never been that nervous in my life. I mean, I think I did so-so. Like she asked me, "How's the library?" and I was supposed to say "It's big." or "It's clean." ...all I could think of saying was "I never go there."

PHAIL.

there was also this part where she asked me if there was ...something inside the school and I really had no idea what she was saying so I just said no.

Anyway, I'm surprised at how fast this semester has gone. I mean next week, I have three finals and then I won't have anymore classes until Jan 4. It still sounds strange to say that I'm in college because that sounds like such a grown up thing and, honestly, I'm still like 12 and a half on the inside.

Today I had my chemlab final which I think went fine. I've actually gotten along really well with everyone in that class, mostly because they all I have such ridiculous personalities and I love that in people. Like today my lab partner (the seriously good looking one) asks us what we would do if we knew the world was gonna end in two days and we were the only ones who knew. And this guy there just flat out goes, "I'd probably commit murder." LOLWHUT?! I mean, yeah, sure, everyone probably thought it, but the way he said it so bluntly just made me crack up. I told them I'd probably do like this HUGE bank robbery, because come one, what are they gonna do, give me life in prison? But yeah, I too would probably go and off the asshole who'd cut me off in traffic that morning.

Oh college.

I've been wanting to do this holiday meme ever since I saw it on [info]uisceros 's LJ.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friends locked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. A car. Let's get the big things out of the way first, yeah? Although at the moment I'm so desperate I'd settle for a donkey and an umbrella to keep me dry in the rainy season.

2. Books recs! Specifically Urban Fantasy recs that don't focus a lot on romance. I like a bit of romance but COME ON, AUTHORS. I can only take so many pages of "his cold, turgid rod filling her slickened opening." or the watered down version of this commonly found in YA fantasy these days: "his amber eyes stared at her and as she felt his gaze seep into her very soul (her very soul!) she felt herself falling in love with the beautiful vampire boy from her highschool whom she'd just met two hours ago." Also, no YA fantasy unless it features very little romance and is at least mildly disturbing. If you can find me YA fantasy that'll have likable characters and scare the living shit out of me, we're good. I do tend to like more stories with adult protagonists, but I'd be alright with teenage protagonists as long as they weren't ridiculously naive.

3. Music recs! I have no idea how to classify my taste in music. I love anything from death metal (Cradle of Filth FTW!) to opera (I shit you not, guys. I shit you not. I'm totally classy.) to jpop (GACKT!!!!!!!). For death metal I love music with a heavy beat or very fast drumming. For opera, I tend to like tenors. For jpop I like catchy songs I can dance to. I do like ballads, but it's harder for me to like a ballad than a fast, pop song.

4. Movie recs. I'm desperate. I'll take anything that doesn't end in a pile of dead bodies. I love science fiction and fantasy, but I can appreciate a good drama.

5. Green Converse sneakers. I'm already getting a pair or red ones so it feels kind of greedy to ask for another pair, but the heart wants what it wants.

6. An electric blue cellphone cover for my new cellphone.

7. And A on my chem final? Actually, Santa (Jesus? Santa Jesus?) if we're gonna get into it, I'd appreciate an A on all my finals. Kthnxbye!

8. For everyone in my family to stay healthy.

I'd been looking for this clip since I saw it the other day. OMG those are balls of fucking STEEL on that kid. This is that very rare type of child that kind of actually makes me wish to consider having children in the far off future. I mean can you imagine this little spitfire just coming home from school and telling you that he's not doing the Pledge of Allegiance until there actually is freedom for all? I mean what kid has the courage to do that? Jesus, I want this kid to grow up to be president.

feelin' fine
I freaking swear once today's test is over I'm not touching a book for the rest of the week. I'll go to class tomorrow with a sheet of paper and a pen in my pocket and that's it. God, I want today to be over. This test isn't even supposed to be as hard as the last one (it was one thermochemistry and all the joys which come attached to the subject) and I did fine on that one, but I'm just so terrified that I'll screw up something by accident or I don't know, faint halfway through.

I'm also getting this really big urge to bake a lot. I can't at the moment because, you know, too busy flailing into a general mess, but man, tomorrow after classes I'm just gonna spend the afternoon baking cakes and pies and listening to loud music on my iPod. There's no better combination.

Okay so I have a big test on Tuesday which sucks, BUT there is apparently going to be a cold front coming for Friday. And what is Friday, you may ask. Only the awesomest holiday to ever come prancing gaily into Awesometown, Black Friday.

This is making me feel much better about that test.

What the what what?

My school has this retarded procedure where you have to take a math test to see what level of math you can take. I took this during the summer, just fresh off pre-cal, and got enough of a grade that I could take calculus, but all the Calculus classes had been full during orientation so I had to skip it. So the score expires after four months and now I have to take it again, having probably forgotten everything having to do with math, and then go up to the Math building--which is probably stuck in Whothefuckknowswhere--and make one of the professors enroll me in. IF I can find a professor, that is. In my school, they seem to be that rarest of the rare species, only being seen five minutes after the class has started, sporting a twitching eye and coffee cup halp-crushed in their hand. If I by some weird chance I happen to find one lounging around the Math department, I half expect and Australian host from Animal Planet channel to appear and start poking it with a stick to see if he can wrestle it to the ground with HIS BARE HANDS after it tries to maul him.

...well, I obviously need some sleep.

Also, Chemistry exam on Tuesday. And two weeks after that: FINALS WEEK. Did lightning just clap in the background or am I just feeling melodramatic again?

Man, I feel like most of the shows still on air this season are total crap. I mean, I still like Glee, but that pregnancy story line has completely overstayed its welcome. I like to think of pregnancy story lines in general as the smelly cousin who shows up on your doorstep reeking of booze and perhaps just a little high and whom you just want to throttle because he's pulled this shit SO MANY TIMES. But yeah, you let him in thinking that maybe this time he'll clean up quick and leave in the morning, and the next morning hen you wake up it's so quiet that you almost forget he's there. AND THEN YOU ROUND THE CORNER AND FIND HIM SITTING NAKED ON THE COUCH. PREGNANT.

And HIMYM is just horrible. I liked, I think, maybe one episode this season. They've completely ruined the Barney/Robin relationship -one of the many signs of the apocalypse that something is wrong with this show now-and with that last episode, I'm worried that they're gonna ruin Barney's character as well as make Robin fall in love with her totally lame co-anchor. Oh! But Big Bang was pretty good last night. I think if they scrapped the Penny/Leonard ship, it would be better, but whateves. I'm not a big Penny/Sheldon shipper, but I'd have to be blind and deaf not to realize how much chemistry they have.

And then we get to V. What a disappointment. I keep watching each week hoping it will get more interesting because I desperately want to have a show about aliens to watch, but I can just feel myself bored to tears whenever it's on. I mean there are parts that I kinda like. Anything with Anna is kickass, but once you move away from that? Do not care. Also, stop it with the FBI agent's creepy kid and his alien girlfriend. Unless she impregnates him with her spawn and makes him deliver lizard babies, you can cut this shit now because I'd much rather be watching Anna blink creepily.

Flashforward could be interesting but sometimes it just goes so freaking slow. Fringe is SO SO dull this season and I'm not even gonna talk about it. I've dropped Gossip Girl so who cares about that. Although I find it hilarious that they could only come up with a Hillary Duff/ McFrodo/Vanessa threesome. WHUT? Is that the best you can come up with? I mean, fuck, even I could have told you that a SerenaChuckBlair threesome would have popped the fucking ratings counter. Or ChuckNateBlair. I mean, who really gives a fuck about what Hillary Duff and The Hobbit of NYU are up to?

Ugly Betty is cute and I still like it but I swear to god if they cancel this show before Betty finally hooks up with Daniel (or worse, she hooks up with someone who isn't Daniel) I will personally punch each and every UB writer in the eye. I mean do you know how many Ugly Betty versions there are? FUCKING BILLIONS. I've seen two in Spanish and in each one she ends up with her boss. And I don't care if the writers want to be "fresh" and "Snap! Dazzle! Pop! NEW!" the story ends with her getting together with the boss. I like my fucking predictability in this shit and will be fucking bitching for AGES if it doesn't happen this way. AGES, you guys. AGES.

I think the new shows I've really ended up liking this season are Modern Family (Manny! He's like a Spanish count only with puffier shirts!) and Community (Abed, yo. That's where it's at.) Also, insta-rec. Watch either of these shows if you're looking for something funny. They are fucking AWESOME!

Mad Men finished and I still have sparkles in behind my eyes from the finale. Sons of Anarchy has been pretty excellent this season as well, especially with Jemma's storyline this year. I wasn't sure I was gonna like it, but I think they did an excellent job in handling her situation.

I've also been watching the Vampire Diaries which is fun fluff. I'm surprised that I ended up liking it as much as I did considering that the first few episodes were as ridiculous as they were. See, this is what I get for making fun of Twilight.

Okay, so I'm totally lame. I have this ridiculous crush on a guy from school. I really hope I get over it quickly because I just can't stop thinking about him and it's not like it's gonna go anywhere so please brain, STOP IT NOW. I also find myself listening to Neil Young because he'd said that he liked that sort of music and now I actually kind of like it too--AHHHH , BRAIN, STOP IT NOW.

I'm totally losing cool points over this. PHAIL.

I just finished Tamra and I have to say that I absolutely loved it. I just heard that the 21 ep version is coming out in December and you bet you ass that I'm gonna watch it again when it does. This show had such a big heart and the characters really felt like people. I have to say though, I shipped Beo Jin and Park Kyu right from the start. How can you not identify with Beo Jin, being that kid who always feels left out and who so desperately wants to see the world. And Park Kyu whom I now have such a big crush on that it's ridiculous.

Okay so I'm totally freaking out because my chemlab notes got messed up and I can't seem to contact my freaking lab partner.  I guess I'll have to see if I can catch him tomorrow before lab and get the notes then. A group of us always hang out in front of the lab before we're allowed to come in and he always seems to be there so I hope tomorrow isn't the one day where he decides to be late. Seriously, I know I shouldn't be freaking out this much but I'm one of those people who's so freaking anal about homework. This is driving me nuts. I keep checking my email to see if I've gotten a reply back from him and when I see that I haven't I just keep getting more and more angry like, "Oh God! Where the hell are you, you jackass! I'm really sorry about always reffering to you as Mr. Princess inside my head, but can we move on from that?!"

*headdesk* By this time tomorrow, I suspect I'll be halfway to a panic attack. Dammit dammit dammit.

Dear History Channel,

Stop it with the 2012 programming. At first it was interesting if a little creepy. You had one or two special episodes about extraordinary events which could lead to the end of civilization. I'll admit  I was intrigued. But now it's like you've committed yourselves to driving everyone to paranoia. Every time I turn on the tv there's some program about how Nostradamus and the Mayans and all these people have predicted that the world is basically FUCKED TO HELL AND BACK. And now it's nonstop "Meteors are out to getcha! And watch out for those solar flares too. They'll fuck up your wifi before they kill you dead."

I mean as if I wasn't already pissing my pants in fear that swine flu was gonna wipe us all out, now I have to worry about the fucking sun?! I can't do shit about the sun. What the shit can I do to protect myself against that? Buy a Jetson's space suit. Shall I build a fucking bomb shelter in my closet? No need for stiletto boots anymore. Shove those bitches out of the way and start stocking the bean cans, motherfucker.

Seriously, stop this shit.

Sincerely,
FUCK YOU.
